Activities

As well as being close to birdwatching, hillwalking, and other activities, Knockbain Farm has several well-maintained footpaths which connect with the local footpath network. This makes for ample opportunity to stretch those legs and enjoy some short or long distance walking.

Or if cycling holidays are your idea of fun, bring the bike and pedal around the wonderfully scenic local routes. You might want to visit the Cromarty and Moray Firths which are famous for dolphin watching, and there is a range of fishing to be had in nearby lochs and rivers.

Alternatively you might be thinking of playing some Highlands golf – there are 42 courses within an hour’s drive of Inverness. Then there is Culloden Battlefield, scene of the last major battle fought on British soil; the mysterious Loch Ness; and a whole host of other activities to do, or sights to see.

Knockbain House makes for an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Highlands, especially as we’re more than glad to put our extensive knowledge of the region at your disposal.

We can promise useful advice on itinerary planning and places of interest. Guests are also free to use our wide collection of guide books and maps, including a complete set of 1"/mile O.S. maps of Scotland.

See our links for more information about activities in the city of Inverness and wider, across the Highlands of Scotland.
